Nanopad v1.3 Released

August 18, 2026
Nanopad v1.3 Released

Nanopad v1.3 is now available.

New in this release:

  • Triple-click in the text area selects the whole line, including its line break.
  • Alt+Z toggles word wrap.

And in previous releases…

  • Crash and shutdown recovery. Unsaved text is autosaved and restored on its own after a crash, a power loss, or a Windows Update restart, with no prompt. Each session is saved separately, so several open windows all come back.
  • Zoom with Ctrl+mouse wheel, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Restore Default Zoom in the View menu on Ctrl+Plus, Ctrl+Minus, and Ctrl+0, and the current zoom percentage in the status bar.
  • Native ARM64 build alongside x64.
  • Automatic reload when the open document changes on disk outside Nanopad.

It is free and open source. Install it with winget install ganksoft.nanopad, or head over to GitHub to download.

Gearlynx Debugger v0.2.0 Released

July 5, 2026
Gearlynx Debugger v0.2.0 Released

Gearlynx Debugger v0.2.0 is now available on the Visual Studio Marketplace.

This release includes:

  • A new Symbols panel that displays a searchable, sortable table of every function and symbol in your ROM with its kind, address, segment, and source location. Filter it, click a row to jump to the source, or right-click a function to set a breakpoint.
  • The Screen, Overlays, and Symbols panels now work without an active debug session, so you can browse symbols and the memory map before pressing F5 (your launch.json needs an entry with "type": "gearlynx").
  • A persistent output channel that logs connection status and errors (look for GearLynx Debugger in the Output window dropdown)
  • A few fixes and optimizations

Head over to the Gearlynx Debugger page to learn more, or grab the source on GitHub.

Nanopad Released

March 22, 2026
Nanopad Released

Nanopad is now available. It is a small, portable, MIT-licensed open-source Win32 text editor in the spirit of the classic Windows Notepad. Simple text editing, with no accounts and no telemetry.

It is a single executable that drops anywhere and keeps all of its settings in an .ini file right beside it. You get Find & Replace, Go To Line, word wrap, zoom, and printing. Dark and light themes follow the Windows setting, encoding detection handles UTF-8 and UTF-16 files, unsaved text survives a crash or a reboot, and Nanopad can stand in as a full Notepad replacement if you want it to.

It is free and open source. Install it with winget install ganksoft.nanopad, head over to the Nanopad page to download it, or grab the source from GitHub.

Hugger-Mugger Released

Hugger-Mugger is Ganksoft’s LynxJam 2025 entry.

Hugger-Mugger is an arcade-style puzzle game where you toss blocks into shifting formations to clear matching patterns before the timer runs out. Every throw changes the board, so where you aim matters as much as how fast you are.

New website!

December 22, 2023

Welcome to the new Ganksoft Entertainment!

The last news item on the old site was dated 2007. I guess it was time for an update. Some things to look out for…

  • A new AI-generated logo!
  • A new AI-generated theme!
  • A new AI-generated hero image!

I have added some old, canceled titles just for posterity. Maybe some of our old fans will find them entertaining.

Additionally, we have a new Atari Lynx game named Grogger. And more coming soon…stay tuned!
